Breath From The Sky is a collection of paintings that I’ve created over the last six months. During that time I created approximately 70 paintings, most of them small in size. For the show, the paintings fall into these sub-groups: The Workers series (paintings about labor and working conditions in the South), historic-esque portraits, and still life paintings. The title for the show comes from the Carson McCullers short story of the same name. During my frenzied six month season (Dec. 2015 – May 2016) I was filled with something from out of this world, a breath from the sky, and I couldn’t stop working. It was an intoxicating experience; one that was most productive.

Thony Aiuppy will be exhibiting new works at the FSCJ Kent Gallery from July 7-21, 2016. The reception is July 7, from 6-8pm. The exhibition will be available for private viewing by appointment until the 21st. Please contact Thony Aiuppy via email or telephone to plan a visit. This event is free to the public.
